Ray Lewis is once again a Baltimore Raven after spending less than a week as a free agent.

Baltimore signed the face of the franchise to a three year deal worth between $20-25 million.

Fellow free agent Terrell Suggs had suggested that Lewis and other Ravens players should offer the team a home town discount to stay together, but Lewis insisted that he’d accept the best offer he received.

However, after the Ravens lost linebacker Bart Scott to the Jets, and Lewis received less interest than expected, the two sides came together quickly on a deal that allowed all involved to claim victory.

The Arizona Cardinals have reportedly signed quarterback Kurt Warner to a two year contract worth $23 million.

Warner led the Cardinals to the Super Bowl last year and publicly stated that he wanted to remain with the team if he decided against retirement. However, Warner also stated that he wanted to be paid like a top tier QB which Arizona appeared unwilling to do.

After becoming a free agent, Warner visited the San Francisco 49ers and reportedly received a more lucrative offer than Arizona’s.

That offer apparently prompted the Cardinals to rework their offer to include a $15 million signing bonus and $4 million guaranteed in each year of the deal for a total guarantee of $19 million.

It’s also being reported that Warner is willing to give up $1 million per year if the Cardinals give disgruntled wide receiver Anquan Boldin the contract extension he’s seeking.

The Denver Broncos have reportedly finalized their deal with former Eagle, Brian Dawkins.

Yesterday, the Broncos jumped into free agency in a hurry, signing 5 free agents. Today, they decided to relax, inking just three more players to free agent deals.

Dawkins, the long time Eagle safety, received a five year deal, worth $17 million ($7.2 million guaranteed) and includes incentives that could tack an extra $10 million onto the contract.

The Broncos also signed ex-Colt, Darrell Reid to a three year deal worth $6.8 million and the former Browns’ Andra Davis to a two year agreement.

The three signings today continue the defensive overhaul of a Bronco team that collapsed late last season, losing their final three games of the season, allowing the San Diego Chargers to take the AFC West crown. In the deciding game with the Chargers, the Broncos defense gave up 289 yards and 5 TD’s on the ground, losing in embarassing fashion 52-21.

With this flood of signings, Denver is obviously trying to make sure that doesn’t happen again.

The team is also reportedly close to a deal with longtime Eagle safety, Brian Dawkins, who’s on his way to Denver to visit the team.

Buckhalter and Arrington have spent thee majority of their careers as backups, but will likely split the carries in Denver’s backfield. Gaffney, the former Patriot wideout, was inked to a 4 year $10 million deal and will give Jay Cutler another reliable target alongside Brandon Marshall and impressive rookie Eddie Royal.

The Broncos also signed former Dolphin safety Renaldo Hill and Patriots long snapper Lonie Paxton in a busy day of free agent spending.

The St. Louis Rams appear to have made the first step in their rebuilding process under new head coach Steve Spagnuolo, by signing free agent center Jason Brown.

While the deal has not been finalized the St. Louis Post Dispatch is reporting that a deal is “imminent.”

Brown, a former Raven, is widely considered the best center of the free agent class and had received an offer of $6 million per year to stay in Baltimore but was said to be seeking a deal in the range of $8 million a year. He’d received interest from the Redskins, Dolphins, and Vikings as well as the Rams but appears to have chosen the Rams, who have just five wins between the last two seasons.

Financial details of the likely deal have not been mentioned.

ESPN.com is reporting that the Jets offer has been agreed to in principle by Scott’s agent and that the deal is Scott’s approval before becoming official. If Scott does end up in New York, it will be a huge blow to the Ravens defense which could lose leader Ray Lewis to free agency as well.

Hall, the 25 year old corner, received $22.5 million in guarantees just a year after getting $24.5 million in guarantees from the Raiders last year despite being cut only 8 games into his 7 year, $70 million deal.

Two time MVP quarterback Kurt Warner reportedly told the Arizona Republic that he’s leaning towards returning to the Cardinals for another year. His agent, was a bit more certain, saying the QB “wants to play, for sure.”

While technically Warner will become a free agent on Feb 27th, he has stated several times that his preference would be to return to Arizona and the Cardinals reportedly have an offer waiting for him.

The 37 year old quarterback has resurrected his career in Phoenix the past two seasons and was in MVP contention again last year, throwing for over 4,500 yards and 30 TD. The Cardinals rode the Warner to Fitzgerald combination all the way to a 4th quarter lead in the Superbowl before Arizona’s defense surrendered the game winning touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes.

Earlier this week the NFL fined Holmes for excessive celebration after that touchdown, even though the referees, in a controversy filled final minute, did not penalize the wideout. Warner and the Cardinals’ season ended on what was ruled a fumble but appeared to be a incomplete forward pass.

Following the loss Warner was non-committal about his possible return, however, it certainly sounds like the future Hall of Famer will be back for one final season.
