The Washington Redskins have reportedly gone deep into their pocketbooks early in free agency, signing Albert Haynesworth and resigning DeAngelo Hall.

Haynesworth was at the top of this year’s free agent class and openly coveted by several teams. However, Redskin owner Dan Snyder has a history of landing the big fish to enormous deals, and this year is no exception.

Haynesworth, the former Titan signed a 7 year deal reportedly worth $100 million which dwarfed Hall’s 6 year, $54 million deal.

Hall, the 25 year old corner, received $22.5 million in guarantees just a year after getting $24.5 million in guarantees from the Raiders last year despite being cut only 8 games into his 7 year, $70 million deal.

The Miami Dolphins have agreed to terms with recently released safety, Gibril Wilson, on a five year deal reportedly worth $27.5 million.

The 5 year safety won a Superbowl with the New York Giants in 2008 and was signed by the Raiders to a 6 year, $39 million deal but lasted only one season in Oakland before being released.

Bill Parcel’s Dolphins, for the second straight year making bold offseason moves, quickly snatched up Wilson to shore up their defense which has two prominent backs hitting the free agent market tomorrow.

Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis is famous for his meddling style of management and his aggressive spending. After watching his team finish 5-11 last season, old Al has once again opened up his checkbook.

The Oakland Raiders have made Nnamdi Asomugha the richest cornerback in the league with a new 3 year deal worth $45.3 million (reportedly $28.5 million of it guaranteed).

Asomugha, the 7 time Pro Bowler had been highly critical of the team last season, but record deals have a way of keeping players quiet.

Earlier in the week the Raiders set another salary record, giving punter Shane Lechler a 4 year deal worth $16 million
