The Indianapolis Colts have released future Hall of Fame receiver, Marvin Harrison.

Harrison is second on the career receptions list and the Manning to Harrison connection ranks #1 in completions, yards, and touchdowns of any quarterback/wide receiver pair since the 1970 merger.

By releasing Harrison, the Colts save roughly $7 million against the salary cap for a player who, while one of the all time greats, has been a shadow of his former self over the past two seasons.

Harrison missed most of the 2007 season following the Colts’ SuperBowl victory, appearing in only 5 games with just 20 receptions and 1 TD. Last year, Harrison again battled health issues, but did manage to play in 15 games. He was limited, however, to 60 catches for 5 TDs.
